description <p><strong>Foundation:</strong> the impact measures the transformative effects of a training program on the institution, the faculty, the students, the community and the environment.<br /><strong>Objective:</strong> to evaluate the impact of the doctoral program in Infectology and Tropical Medicine implemented at the Pedro Kourí Institute of Tropical Medicine.<br /><strong>Methods:</strong> a quantitative-qualitative observational study was carried out during the years 2018-2023, with a population of 153 members and a sample of 137 participants. The Theory of Education was used. Interview, survey and observation, theoretical level methods and descriptive statistics were used.<br /><strong>Results:</strong> the faculty is composed of 53 doctors in science, with 516 (9.92 average) awards, 522 (10.3 average) scientific articles, 550 events (10.57 per faculty member). The postdoctoral strategy projects the participation of academic and scientific networks. The enrollment is 62 doctoral students, predominantly female and over 60 years old, with 78 publications. They have received 97 awards (4.4 average), 14 awards from the Cuban Academy of Sciences and eight Annual Health Awards, the 2020 Public Health Excellence Award, recognition from the World Organization of Parasitology, two L`Oreal-Unesco Awards, and the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Veterinary Medicine Association.<br /><strong>Conclusions:</strong> The Doctoral Program was evaluated as excellent and is inserted in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, with a well-strengthened postdoctoral academic training directed towards the search for sustainable and innovative solutions.</p>
