Description
Summary:The following is a record of the session “The Role of the Translator in the Age of AI” at the Asian Festival of Children’s Content, in Singapore, on 28 May 2023, a few months after the launch of ChatGPT (November 2022). The panel comprised Nguyen Thanh Nam, Susan Xu Yun and Helen Wang, with Avery Fischer Udagawa as moderator. The event was live (all four participants were in Singapore) and live-streamed. It was recorded and made available online to ticket holders for a few weeks after the event. A machine transcript of the event (without the powerpoint slides used in the event) was provided to Helen Wang, who edited it for publication. Many thanks to Helen and to the AFCC for allowing us to publish it here.
