Description
Summary:Non-infectious uveitis is the leading and insufficiently studied cause of irreversible decline in visual functions in patients with immune-mediated inflammatory rheumatic disease (IMIRDs). A multidisciplinary approach to the diagnosis and treatment of uveitis in patients with IMIRDs, involving close collaboration of rheumatologists and ophthalmologists, is the key factor for achieving favorable clinical outcomes. This article sheds light on current clinical, differential diagnostic and therapeutic challenges related to non-infectious uveitis in IMIDs-patients, with specific emphasis on state-of-the art approaches to therapy.
