| Summary: | ZJ0273, propyl 4-[2-(4, 6-dimethoxy-2-pyrimidinyloxy) benzylamino] benzoate, is a novel herbicide used mainly in the oilseed rape field. The effects of ZJ0273 on acetolactate synthase (ALS) activity in the tissue-cultured oilseed rape and crickweed were studied under in vitro and in vivo conditions. The alleviating effects of branched chain amino acids (BCAAs) on the ZJ0273-induced growth inhibition of crickweed were also investigated. The results showed that ZJ0273 inhibited significantly the ALS activity of crickweed, while no significant inhibition was found on that of oilseed rape. The ZJ0273-induced growth inhibition of crickweed could be alleviated by adding isoleucine (Ile), leucine (Leu) or valine (Val), respectively. The alleviating effect by the combinations of either two BCAAs was more significant than by single BCAA. When Ile, Leu and Val (10 mg·L-1 for each) were simultaneously added to the medium, the inhibition of crickweed were completely reversed. These results suggested that ZJ0273 might belong to the inhibitor of ALS. |
