It is claimed that Scottish colonial success can be considered the main driving force in the national integration and shaping Scottish national identity. The author concludes that in pre-1914 period Scottish nationalism was expressed in the form of cooperation between Scottish and English merchants, soldiers and doctors who had created the united British Empire. |
