Summary:Abstract: This study aims at investigating gender differences in the naming behaviors (pseudonyms and real names) of the Facebook profiles among young Algerians. The study corpus consisted of 1867 Facebook profiles (1267 females and 600 males). These were the profiles in the networks of 22 students from Constantine university, who participated in the study. The corpus results were analyzed based on inferential statistics using a Chi-square test. Results have shown that there is a significant relationship between gender and the name of the Facebook profile, where pseudonyms were highly used among females than males for naming the Facebook profiles.
