description The paper provides a brief overview of the most important features of Habsburg historical cartographic sources from the time before the Treaty of Karlowitz (1699) and after the Treaty of Passarowitz using a combination of theories of new cultural cartography, eco-history, iconography, and iconology in their analysis. A brief analysis based on four examples highlights the reflection of the client’s cultural circle, and with the help of graphics on selected cartographic sources, learned artistic speech is recognized.
