Description
Summary:Purpose. To conduct a comparative analysis of growth dynamics, exterior and reproductive parameters of tench broodstock grown at different levels of intensification of the technological process. Methodology. During the spring valuation, the age and weight structure and main exterior indices of tench broodstock from five farms of grazing, semi-intensive and intensive technologies were studied. The reproductive parameters of tench females were studied at the incubation workshop of “Karpatskyi Vodogray” LLC. Working and relative fecundity of tench females were determined by the weight and number of eggs they produced during their first collection. The effectiveness of reusing females in the spawning campaign was assessed based on the results of the second collection of eggs, which was carried out 10–12 days after the first one. The criteria for analyzing the obtained value were their average value and standard error (M±m). Findings. The conducted studies showed that the weight of same-age brood tench individuals increased with increasing intensification of their cultivation, with this effect being more significant on the weight of females than males. The average values of exterior parameters in females and males were close: the body length to height ratio was 3.09–3.10, the girth index was 1.34, and the condition factor was 2.31–2.33. However, the latter parameter was highest under intensive, and lowest under grazing cultivation of brood fish. The average weight of eggs produced was 12.3–12.4% of the body weight of tench females during their intensive and semi-intensive cultivation and 9.4% of the body weight during grazing. Relative working fecundity rates were similar under intensive and semi-intensive cultivation – 418.3 and 388.9 thousand eggs/kg, respectively, and amounted to 266.3 thousand eggs/kg under grazing cultivation. The second portion of eggs from tench female was 1.87–2.92% of the initial weight of females, and the working fecundity was 20.9–38.5% of the working fecundity during the first spawning. Originality. For the first time, a study was conducted of the dynamics of growth, exterior and reproductive parameters of brood tench grown using different technologies: grazing, semi-intensive and intensive. The level of dependence for the working fecundity of tench females on their weight was found for each group of females and when collecting the first and second portions of eggs. Practical Value. The results of the analysis of productive and biological parameters of brood tench grown using different technologies, will be used to develop technological standards for the creation of tench broodstock in farms with various types of cultivation. At the same time, the established dependence of the working fecundity of females on the technology of their cultivation is the starting point when planning a spawning campaign for the reproduction of tench in artificial conditions.
