Updated phylogenetic studies of the family Ramalinaceae including these samples show that species of <i>Bacidia</i> are grouped in three different clades: <i>Bacidia</i> s. str. (type species <i>B. rosella</i>), <i>Bacidina</i> (type species <i>Bn. phacodes</i>), and <i>Woessia</i> (type species <i>W. fusarioides</i>). As a result, seven new combinations in the resurrected genus <i>Woessia</i> are here proposed. In addition, a comprehensive checklist of lichens and lichenicolous fungi of two of the islands (including locality and substrate) is provided, with five species being reported from Azores for the first time. |
