description Congenital syphilis is an infectious disease caused by the transmission of the bacterium Treponema pallidum from an infected mother to her fetus during pregnancy. Despite effective screening and treatment protocols, congenital syphilis continues to afflict newborns worldwide, leading to serious complications such as stillbirth, prematurity, low birth weight, and a range of congenital abnormalities. We put forth a rare case of asymptomatic late congenital syphilis following Kassowitz law. This abstract highlights the importance of comprehensive prenatal care, including early detection and treatment of maternal syphilis, to mitigate the devastating impact of congenital syphilis on both maternal and child health.
