According to this perspective, any translation of his work can be conceived as a re-translation, the translation of a translation. It is a retranslation that must respect the same criteria outlined in Marcel Proust’s implicit translation theory. If writing, according to Proust, is translating experience, understood as a flow of impressions of all kinds, it is necessary to approach the translation of À la recherche du temps perdu paying special attention to this sensorial aspect. Among the different sensations, the acoustic ones play a fundamental role due to their unwavering quality. This paper analyses some of the most representative passages in the Catalan translation authored by myself and published by Proa. |
