description There is an association between a discursive reflection and experience in Christianity which exists in two orders of Eastern Orthodox Christian belief. At the primary level one acquires understanding from the Holy Scriptures and the teachings of the Early Church fathers relating to direct reports and experiences from a range of people. At the second level, one probes a range of theological theories based on what is reported in early scripture. This study employed a hermeneutical approach looking at the theory and practice of interpretation, to analyse the life and teachings of Saint Paul on the themes of the Law, Salvation, Atonement and Justification. It involved identifying the meaning and significance of some of his actions and writings in light of their religious tradition and historical context. The work also briefly explores how Saint Paul’s life and teachings on the themes discussed can continue to generally speak to contemporary issues and challenges in global legal practice.
