description [Abstract] Colorectal cancer, as a common gastrointestinal malignancy, often causes malnutrition. Severe malnutrition, as an independent risk factor, may result to adverse clinical outcomes such as increased postoperative complications, decreased quality of life and even increased mortality. Therefore, perioperative nutritional management of patients with colorectal cancer is particularly important. The article combines the latest recommendations from clinical nutritional guidelines in surgery, as well as the latest research progress, to discuss the related content of the perioperative nutritional risk screening and nutritional assessment, preoperative rehabilitation therapy, postoperative nutritional therapy, and posthospital nutritional management for patients with colorectal cancer.
