Description
Summary:The article presents an overview of media art works of the 20th-21st centuries, multimedia installations aimed at creating conditions for targeted concentration, contemplative experience and meditation. Various approaches of artists to the use of digital technologies for organizing spaces that promote concentration and introspection are considered. Based on the analysis of existing works, a classification of works by the type of interaction with the viewer is proposed. The article explores the evolution of the interaction of meditative practices and media art, from early experiments with light music to modern immersive installations with biometric feedback. Based on the analysis of key works of media art of the 20th-21st centuries, the transformation of artistic methods for achieving altered states of consciousness through digital technologies is traced. Particular attention is paid to the pioneering works of Bulat Galeev and August Lanin in the field of light and music installations for space medicine and their influence on contemporary artistic practices. The contribution of media artists to the development of new forms of meditation is considered, including the works of James Turrell, Mariko Mori, Olafur Eliasson, Refik Anadol and other recognized authors in the art world who use advanced technologies to create immersive spaces. The research methodology is based on an interdisciplinary approach that combines art history analysis and technological aspects of creating meditative spaces. The work systematizes various approaches to the use of biometric data in media art, from individual capsules to collective installations, and analyzes their effectiveness in achieving meditative states in the viewer. The results of the study show that contemporary media art not only inherits the traditions of classical meditative practices, but also creates fundamentally new forms of human interaction with the digital environment, contributing to the achievement of deep states of awareness and inner peace. A tendency towards personalization of artistic experience through the use of neurointerfaces and biometric sensors has been identified, which opens up new prospects in the field of art therapy and contemporary media art. The practical significance of the study lies in the possibility of using the described artistic methods in creating therapeutic spaces, designing public zones of psychological relief and developing new forms of digital art. The materials of the article can be used in educational programs on media art, as well as in the design of relaxation spaces in the urban environment.
