Evidence suggests that smoking cessation not only reduces the immediate risk of oral cancer but also contributes to long-term health improvements. The mechanisms through which smoking cessation exerts its protective effects, including the reduction of carcinogenic exposure and enhancement of oral mucosal health, are discussed. Public health strategies and interventions aimed at promoting smoking cessation are also highlighted as essential components in oral cancer prevention efforts. |
