description At present, dynamic var compensation device such as static var generator (SVG) just only output reactive power and doesn’t have active power adjustment ability. It proposed a novel high voltage dynamic var compensation device and introduced its principle along with its control strategy. The device can adjust active power while it’s compensating reactive power, so that the device can transfer active power from one bus to another. Simulation results show that this device is feasible.
