Description
Summary:Isolated pulmonary Langerhans cell histiocytosis (LCH) is uncommon in children. Often recurrent pneumothorax complicates therapy and contributes to morbidity. Chemotherapy does not always prevent the complications of pneumothorax. We report here a young girl with isolated pulmonary LCH who presented with respiratory failure, successfully treated with chemotherapy, and pleurodesis. We report this case to highlight the use of pleurodesis in this setting.
