Summary:Aiming at the problems of load fluctuation and voltage fluctuation caused by large reactive power impact in railway traction system, a railway power regulation device based on multi-step-down topology was developed to stabilize the terminal voltage of power supply arm by adjusting the voltage through reactive power output and power fusion. The device adopts a parallel structure of several back-to-back three-level power units, each with an independent main circuit and control unit, so that the device has good redundancy characteristics. To solve the problem of unbalanced neutral-point potential in three-level converter, DC voltage equalization is realized by adding zero-sequence voltage to the output voltage. The problem of waveform distortion caused by a large number of harmonics in railway traction system is tackled by improving the quality of current waveform through proportional resonance controller. The 27.5 kV/5 MVA power conditioning device can effectively suppress the voltage fluctuation within 2.2 kV at the end of the power supply arm after running in the traction compartment of Shenshuo Railway, which verifies the correctness and feasibility of the main circuit and control strategy of the device.
