Description
Summary:Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) is an innovative and promising solution for charging Electric Vehicles (EVs) without physical connections. This review explores the advancements, challenges, and methodologies associated with WPT technology, including its stationary and dynamic charging capabilities. The paper examines key components such as inductive charging systems, compensation topologies, coil configurations, and design considerations for efficient power transfer. Emphasis is placed on addressing challenges like misalignment tolerance, air gap efficiency, and high-frequency operations. Emerging technologies, such as hybrid topologies and dynamic charging infrastructures, are also discussed for their potential to reduce battery size, improve environmental sustainability, and increase EV adoption. Despite current limitations in cost and efficiency, ongoing research and development aim to optimize WPT systems, making them a viable alternative to traditional plug-in charging methods.
