Description
Summary:Raoultella planticola is a possible causative agent of numerous conditions in high-risk immunocompromised patients with comorbid conditions, such as cancer. Recently, it has been reported that this bacterium may be responsible for infection in patients after the consumption of seafood. Patients infected with Raoultella planticola also may present with enteric fever–like symptoms, without clear foci of infection. Cephalosporins typically are effective for the treatment of such infections; however, resistant cases have been reported. Thus, antimicrobial susceptibility should be determined for each patient.
