| Summary: | The clinical success of Mihata superior capsule reconstruction with fascia lata autograft is directly related to the very high healing rate and very low retear rate of the procedure. These are the result of executing the 3 key components of the procedure correctly. The first key component is the harvesting of the graft including the intermuscular septum. The second component is the preparation of the autograft using the intermuscular septum to create a thick and stiff graft construct. The third component is the placement and fixation of the graft in a properly prepared shoulder. We describe our technique for preparing the shoulder and passing, placing, and fixing the autograft for superior capsule reconstruction per the Mihata technique. |
