| Summary: | In this research study, a case study of the footwear company in the Juan Atalaya neighborhood was analyzed. This company is dedicated to the production of footwear and other leather products. Where workers are frequently exposed to chemical substances, materializing the risk with respect to these same components. Objective: To develop an action plan of good preventive practices for the risk of occupational diseases caused by chemicals in the activities of the shoe company. Methodology: Within this project, a methodology with a mixed approach and descriptive design was used. For the collection of information, non-participant observation techniques, focus groups, as well as a survey were used to identify the process and the conditions in which employees work, evidencing in time the symptoms that can be associated with an occupational disease and to be able to develop the prevention, control and corrective measures necessary for the present case. Results and conclusions: it was evident that in the evaluated areas workers are routinely exposed to chemicals such as: acetone glue, super, xylene, acetone, hydrocarbons, in addition to the fact that there are no preventive measures to minimize the damage and injuries generated in the health of workers due to exposure to chemical risk, some workers with respiratory diseases were identified, which makes it necessary to immediately assist the control of this risk through preventive practices in favor of the health and safety of workers. |
