Summary:Both privateand public high schools including general high schools, science and Anatolianhigh schools have constituted the universe of this study. The sample, a totalof 299 teaching stuff, were selected those specified high schools’ including 46managers and 253 teachers of 299 people formed the research sample. The resultsof the research showed that socio-economic level and academic achievementlinearly related to organizational narcissism. Because the level oforganizational narcissism of private schools were higher than those of thepublic schools and the level of organizational narcissism of Anatolian andscience high schools for which their teachers and students are selected via anational entrance and placement examinationwere higher than those of general high schools.This researchexamining the level of organizational narcissism and its relations to somevariables was completed by the help of data picked from 18 high schools inSakarya province. For somereasons, such as having a perception and questionable appreciation of studentslevels and scores in various exams (national or regional) are equivalent toschool achievement, criticizing schools that don’t have resembling scores, anddifferences and variances about resources use, private high schools have higherlevels of narcissistic characteristics than state high schools, state highschools for which teachers and students are selected via a national entranceand placement examination have higher levels of narcissistic characteristicsthan other state schools in which no such an exam is conducted.
