Summary:This research focuses on the development of a teaching strategy to improve the application of trigonometric ratios in solving contextualized problems for tenth-grade students at Claudia María Prada School in Cúcuta. The research is conducted using a qualitative approach, utilizing the action research methodology, and with the participation of eight students as informants. The instruments used for data collection include a diagnostic test, direct observations during the implementation of the strategy, and the final evaluation. Through a series of activities that begin by recreating historical situations, students are encouraged to overcome the main difficulty detected in the diagnosis in relation to their prior knowledge. The topic of trigonometric ratios is gradually introduced, contributing to overcoming these difficulties and enhancing students' mathematical skills in solving triangles using trigonometric ratios in everyday situations.
