Sharjah appears thus as attempting to preserve an identity, distinct, even opposed to that of Dubai, through the primacy granted to education, culture and arts, the abiding by its Arab and Islamic roots, and the commitment to good governance. Testimony to it is borne by the care granted to the promotion of women as to the protection of environment and nature. |
