Description
Summary:We will explore the bonds linking the new age of European imperialism to the first globalized economy of the period 1870-1914, since both developed concurrently. Through a general overview of the development of Europe’s new concepts of empire prior to the First World War, we will try to establish norms tending to show how the first globalization of the 19th century found its inspiration in concepts that had been established to foster the colonial expansion of the great European Powers. Still, we will also insist on the differences between these two ways of conceiving international relations.
