Description
Summary:The pandemic devastated the world, claimed countless lives, and significantly altered our way of being and living in community. Through this text, we present the interpretive exercise linked to an investigation that aimed to understand how the pandemic experience and the emergency remote teaching process were experienced by Chemistry professors from a University in the Midwest. As a tool for constructing the empirical material, we used a questionnaire, via Google Forms, composed of sixteen questions, sent to eighteen professors/collaborators. For the analysis of the empirical information, we anchored ourselves in the theoretical/methodological principles of Discursive Textual Analysis. From the analysis process, clues emerge regarding the heterogeneity of the professors' experiences, the limitations of emergency remote teaching, especially concerning teacher/student interaction, the unique learning opportunities this scenario may have provided, the lack of institutional support, and the demand for continuous training based on the themes proposed by the professors.
