Summary:Turbulence intensity has an important effect on fatigue load and ultimate load of wind turbine. Based on the wind measurement data of a wind farm in the Yunnan-Guizhou plateau, the turbulence intensity was calculated by CFD software Meteodyn WT. Turbulence matrix exported from WT was analyzed and the analysis result was compared with NTM of IEC61400-1 standard for wind turbine to assess turbulence intensity, thereby evaluating safety of wind farms. In addition, a method to calculate Iref is proposed regarding the problem that turbulence typical value Iref cannot be exported directly from WT.
