| Summary: | Airway foreign bodies, especially metallic objects, present significant risks in pediatric patients. A 21-month-old boy with severe stridor had an light emitting diode light lodged in his glottis. Fiber-optic bronchoscopy using a supraglottic airway facilitated the visualization. A small-sized endotracheal tube was used to secure the airway before successfully retrieving the foreign body. The child was stable, extubated after 24 h, and discharged on day 4. This case highlights the fiber-optic bronchoscopy techniques in managing difficult airway foreign bodies in children. |
