description Introduction: Drug Reaction with Eosinophilia and Systemic Symptoms - DRESS, syndrome constitutes a serious adverse reaction to medications, mainly anticonvulsant drugs. Objective: To describe the clinical evolution of DRESS syndrome in a patient treated at the Hospital Militar Central "Dr. Luis Díaz Soto". Case Report: 27-year-old female patient with a personal pathological history of epilepsy. Three months after initiation of diphenylhydantoin therapy, fever appeared maculopapular rash that progressed to exfoliative erythroderma, signs of liver damage, cervical adenopathies and eosinophilia. DRESS syndrome was diagnosed secondary to the use of anticonvulsants. Conclusions: The clinical evolution was favorable, after the withdrawal of the drug and the application of steroids orally.
