description Aiming at the phenomenon that regenerative braking failure occurs frequently in some electric locomotives of electrified railway in China, it validated that grid power quality is one of the important factors which cause the regenerative braking failure, through field measurement and analysis. On this basis, combing the related factors of locomotive regenerative braking failure, it analyzed and calculated the improvement measures which could be taken by power supply system, and proposed engineering solutions accordingly.
