Summary:In order to extract the fault characteristic of bearing, an adaptive multiscale morphology method is proposed. A differential morphological operator is selected to extract the positive impact and negative impact. And the local peak interval of the signal is used to determine the scale of each structural element. Thus a set of structural elements with different scale is produced to analyze the signal. The results of simulation experiment show that the proposed method is better than the singlescale morphology method for extracting the impact component of signal. The proposed method is also used to process the bearing fault signal, the results confirm that the proposed adapt ive multiscale morphology method is able to extract the impact component of the signal.
