Betrayed by the Emperor Bonaparte who was not faithful to his word and refused to accept the course of History, Louverture was jailed in a dark prison of Jura where he ended his existence dedicated to the protection of the dignity of the humbles. Nonetheless, he bequeathed to the new continent the example of the emancipation acquired through struggles, making of Haiti the first independent nation of Latin America. |
