| Summary: | The article presents the materials of a new Eneolithic burial ground, discovered by chance in the 2023 field season near the former village of Novoe Biksenteevo (Republic of Tatarstan). Burial 1, represented by an adult male individual, was destroyed by plowing; burial 2, identified in a test pit at the top of a dune, contained a partially preserved child's skeleton with bone and shell pendants. The analysis of sources on specific bone ornaments, biconvex pendants, allowed the authors to determine a narrow chronology of the existence of this type of ornaments. Based on analogies in the Volga-Urals and Western Siberia, the burials of the Novoye Biksenteevo burial ground can be tentatively dated to the second half of the V – first quarter of the IV millennium BC. |
