| description | This study examined the regional disparities in the distribution of test centers for the Clinical Laboratory Technologist National Examination in South Korea and evaluated their economic and psychological impact on examinees. Candidates from non-metropolitan areas face significant financial burdens because of high transportation and lodging costs, as they must travel long distances to access test centers. These logistical challenges contribute to elevated stress levels, fatigue accumulation, and potential declines in test performance. By analyzing the data from 2000 to 2023, this study confirmed that accessibility issues persist for examinees from rural and less urbanized areas because test centers are disproportionately concentrated in metropolitan regions. This analysis addresses these disparities by proposing the expansion of computer-based testing (CBT) as an effective solution. CBT can reduce the need for long-distance travel, alleviate financial burdens, and enhance accessibility. |
