Summary:Background: The basic clinical integration in the teaching-learning of Basic Biomedical Sciences in Medicine careers has directed the training processes based on pedagogical paradigms that have as central focus the meaningful and social constructivist learning. Objective: To propose a basic clinical integration model that takes into consideration interdisciplinarity as a didactic and motivational alternative in Basic Biomedical Sciences. Methodology: A qualitative study was conducted in medical education. Empirical and theoretical methods were applied to develop the proposal. A focal group was developed with Basic Biomedical Sciences department professors. Results: A model was designed for basic clinical integration based on the application of didactic situations, which allows the theoretical contents to be linked to the future practical activity of the general doctor. The model is shown to be a suitable option for basic clinical linking, the development of logical-intellectual and professional skills through interdisciplinarity. It includes recursivity as a way to reintegrate clinical knowledge into basic ones. Conclusions: The use of didactic processes by means of interdisciplinarity, as proposed by the model elaborated, is an alternative to favor the basic clinical linkage. It allows students from the beginning of the career, the intellectual skills development and a greater motivation for medicine, by bringing them closer, from the very first years of their studies, to health situations that they will have to face in their professional life.
