| description | Introduction:
Binge alcoholism is an acute condition affecting health severely; however, it’s becoming a trend in Gen-Z adolescents. Yoga offers holistic and sustainable management strategies.
Main Clinical Finding:
A 16-year-old adolescent male having a history of binge drinking presented with the symptoms including abdominal pain, headache, nausea, vomiting, diaphoresis, severe fatigue, anxiety, and insomnia.
Diagnosis:
Based on clinical evaluation and symptomatic assessment, the patient was diagnosed with Madatyaya (binge alcoholism).
Interventions:
The patient underwent Vamanadhauti (yogic therapeutic self-induced emesis) for immediate purification, followed by Dhyana (meditation).
Outcome:
Significant rapid improvement was observed in physical, mental, and emotional well-being including reduced fatigue and anxiety. The patient reported abstinence from alcohol and better sleep patterns over a 7-day follow-up period at the time of this report.
Conclusion:
This case report highlights the efficacy of integrating Vamanadhauti and Dhyana in managing binge alcoholism among Gen-Z while enhancing the patient’s quality of life. |
