Summary:The purpose of the current study was to find out whether escin (ES) safeguarded experimental rats against cyclophosphamide (CP)-induced kidney injury. Twenty-four rats were randomly divided into four groups (<i>n</i> = 6). After the examination, histological and biochemical analyses were performed to assess the alterations in kidney tissue. According to histologic and biochemical analyses, renal tissue in the CP group suffered significant damage by CP. There was a significant improvement in histological damage in the group receiving CP+ES together. This suggests that ES significantly protects the kidney’s functional characteristics. The present study concludes by highlighting histological and biochemical studies to illustrate the ability of ES to cure kidney injury caused by CP and its influence on the relationship between oxidative stress, apoptosis, and renal failure.
