description The article presents the review of latest studies devoted to assessment of the eosinophilic inflammation in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and opportunities for differential therapy of stable COPD and COPD therapy during exacerbation. Currently, there is no final definition what threshold blood level of eosinophils can be used for decision making in clinical practice. The only thing found out was that the high blood level of eosinophils could be a predictor of the risk of frequent exacerbations and the effectiveness of treatment with glucocorticosteroids.
