In this regard, Queen Maria had made touristic visits to Turkey at various times, the first of which was in 1928. Although there was no diplomatic, these visits played an instrumental role in the development of relations between Turkey and Romania. The fact that the relations between the two states gained a new dimension in the early 1930s makes the visits of Queen Maria and Princess Ileana in 1930 even more meaningful.
