Summary:Abstract: The incorporation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Foreign Language Teaching (FLT) has gained increasing prominence in innovating the teaching approaches to ensure modern, effective and enriched learning experience. The main purpose of this article is to provide a comprehensive overview regarding the effects of this technology on FLT. The research summarizes the findings of the literature review to address emerging challenges related to various learner needs and limited resources, while also emphasizing AI’s role in supporting more personalized learning experiences, immediate feedback and adaptive teaching methods. Moreover, this study critically highlights the importance of AI, functioning as a significant tool for enhancing, more particularly students’ writing skills, motivation and engagement in foreign language learning process. Notwithstanding, it acknowledges various concerns regarding the drawbacks of this technology, primarily over-reliance, equity and ethical implications. Ultimately, the scope of this study is to bridge the field of FLT with AI, showcasing the latter as a driving force to ensure innovative and effective language teaching and learning.
