Description
Summary:For several years, mapping services have been activated following a disaster in order to provide an initial overview of the damage. Distributed on a massive scale, they are characterised by a diversity of cartographic representation modes, which can be detrimental to their understanding. Based on this observation, we propose optimised cartographic solutions at different scales. In addition, we take into account acquisition methods, the meteorological context and diagnostic deviations as crucial parameters with uncertainties. Visual and technical variables are elaborated under GIS in order to provide a synoptic, continuous and dynamic vision of a “cyclone” territory, the island of Saint-Martin following cyclone Irma (07/ 2017).
