Description
Summary:Indonesia's sea tends to be vulnerable to various pollution problems from multiple sources, such as domestic activities, industries, and sea transportation. The existence of seafarers' work behavior to preserve the marine environment is important for preventing the marine environment from pollution. Therefore, it is necessary to research the pro-marine environmental behavior of Indonesian seafarers. This study aims to quantitatively describe the pro-marine environmental behavior of seafarers in carrying out their shipping activities, with 383 Indonesian seafarers as respondents. The measuring instrument used to obtain data is the pro-marine environmental behavior scale developed by the researchers. This research shows that although most respondents have a high tendency to behave pro-marine environmentally, some admit rarely and rarely engage in pro-marine environmental behavior. This research is expected to provide implications for policymakers related to the marine environment in Indonesia to always socialize and enforce rules about marine environmental sustainability, especially in shipping activities, to increase awareness of seafarers' behavior toward a more pro-marine environment.
