| Summary: | Cs2LiYCl6:Ce (CLYC) has a great application prospect in radiation safety and radioactive logging as a new kind of scintillation crystal detector. This study aims to study the response characteristics of gamma particle detection and its application in density logging. By using Monte Carlo numerical simulation, its energy resolution, detection efficiency under different detection spacing and detection depth of formation are compared and analyzed. The application effect of CLYC crystal detector is evaluated according to the density logging response of various density, lithology and fluid condition obtained by different crystal detectors. The results show that CLYC crystal detector has high energy resolution which is between LaBr3 and NaI crystal detector, and its gamma particle detection efficiency is lower than that of NaI crystal detector, but its detection depth of information is consistent with NaI crystal detector. Compared with NaI crystal detector, the density response result of CLYC crystal detector is similar to that of NaI crystal detector, and CLYC crystal detector can be effectively applied to obtain formation density. This study provides a theoretical basis for well logging detector selection and design of density measurement. |
