| Summary: | Objective To investigate the awareness, behavioral patterns, and current status of medical care support regarding nutritional needs among patients with active systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Methods A descriptive study was conducted, involving semi-structured interviews with 10 patients with active SLE and 6 healthcare providers. The key themes were extracted using thematic analysis. Results After organizing the interview data, three major themes were identified: the interactive influence of disease and nutrition, the lack of awareness and knowledge among patients and healthcare providers, and psychological and sociocultural factors. Conclusion This study reveals core issues in nutritional management for patients with active SLE, such as insufficient linkage between symptoms and diet, and the lack of doctor-patient awareness. It is recommended that clinical settings develop symptom-specific nutritional guidance tools and incorporate nutritional screening into routine assessment procedures. The aim is to establish a standardized path of assessment, education, and follow-up through multidisciplinary collaboration, and explore digital intervention strategies to enhance patient compliance. |
