| description | The fourth centennial of Don García de Silva y Figueroa’s embassy to Persia has been celebrated with several new publications, mainly in Portugal, but also in Spain. Here, the discovery of some original documents in the Archivo Histórico Municipal de Zafra has allowed us to offer new faithful data and to correct some errors about the ambassador’s biography, and also to study the Libro Diario de Gastos (preserved for the time running between 1st January and 29th May), that provides us with meaningful evidence about the economy and the material life of the Embassy. |
