| Summary: | Introduction: This study investigated the potential relationship between ankyloglossia and sagittal jaw discrepancies. Methods: The study was conducted with 60 patients diagnosed with ankyloglossia and 60 control participants, all of whom were evaluated for dental and skeletal malocclusions. Results: The analysis, based on occlusion classification and cephalometric measurements, did not reveal a significant relationship between ankyloglossia and the prevalence of Class III malocclusion. Conclusion: Although previous studies suggested a possible connection, this study’s results suggest that ankyloglossia does not significantly impact maxillary development or occlusion. |
