| Summary: | Cruise Tourism is one of the sectors that has most grown in the last years. The main purpose of this article is to understand the structure of a cruise ship from the perspective of the General System Theory, using Lotman´s Semiosphere concepts for this. Studying a cruise ship as a social and human system, knowing the boundaries that limit the operation, understanding the cultural exchanges existing in this multicultural environment and, especially understanding the Entertainment Department semiosphere, the object of study in this research, are the specifics objectives in this article. For the methodology it was used literature review, having as central concepts the Semiosphere studies and also themes related to multiculturalism in the relationships, working onboard and entertainment onboard, besides the systematic observation performed in several cruise ships voyages. The conclusion of this paper get us close to the central theory, the structure of the ship and, consequently, that of the Entertainment Department have a proper semiosphere, with a delimiter character, with an organizational structure that has a central nucleus and periphery, with boundaries to be surpassed and with a rigid internal regulation, whose study is presented in a framework. |
