description Aortic dissection, though rare, is a potentially life-threatening complication in renal transplant recipients. We report the case of a 31-year-old male who developed a Stanford type B aortic dissection in the immediate postoperative period following a kidney transplant. Postoperatively, he presented with decreased urine output and accelerated hypertension. An aortic dissection was incidentally detected on a Doppler ultrasound and confirmed by a computed tomography aortogram. An emergency endovascular intervention was performed. Despite these complications, the patient’s condition improved, with urine output gradually normalizing and serum creatinine stabilizing on triple immunosuppression. Follow-up imaging showed no further extension of the dissection. The patient was discharged in stable condition with good graft function. This case highlights the importance of vigilance for aortic dissection in renal transplant recipients, even in the absence of classic symptoms. The successful management of this patient underscores the potential for favorable outcomes with prompt diagnosis and intervention.
