| Summary: | ABSTRACT
The article describes the practice of cataloguing older monographic publications in the National and University Library, Ljubljana, Slovenia. The specific characteristics of this material, modes of acquisition, processing and preservation are presented in the introduction. The article does not set out any new rules but highlights those characteristics and particularities of older monographic publications which should be given special attention, or indicates the problems which we meet. Simultaneously, it should stimulate creative cooperation of all who catalogue older monographic publications, especially those who document the historical, cultural and language development of the Slovene nation.
